Guy Maestri's latest landscape paintings from West and South captured the essence of specific rural landscape in Hill End, Robertson, Bald Hill, Southern Highland, Bridal Track, Robbo and Cowra. This series of oil paintings showed Guy Maestri's brush technique and selected paint colours to express in simple form of tree comouflage without any details of leaves and tree branches. The landforms are naturally layered in sequence with different shades of colours and simple brush strokes. The simplicity of trees and landforms makes these unique rural landscape paintings. Guy Maestri seems to like to capture late afternoon, evening or after dark landscape settings where you can enjoy to see beautiful dark green, blue, black trees, mountain and valleys as seen on "Black Trees Robbo 2011", " Bald Hill, Well After Dark 2011" and "Robertson, 8pm 2011." An excellent exhibition from artist Guy Maestri and a great contribution in Australian contemporary landscape paintings. This is a nearly Sold Out exhibition. I recommend everyone of you to visit Tim Olsen Gallery to see Guy Maestri's new masterpiece. I wonder whether Guy will enter the Archibald, Wynne or Sulman Prize competition this year! I think he will... Exhibition closed on 20th March 2011.
