Vince Vozzo

New Women: Carrare marble and base

The Wynne Prize finalist Sculptor Vince Vozzo exhibition has been represented in Eva Breuer Art Dealer at 83 Moncur Street Woollahra.

Vince produces intriquing male and female figurative sculptures in finely crafted marble and sandstone materials. He mastered the character and personality of subject matter which is usually translated through body form of "explosive torso" and enhanced with language of sensuality, delicacy and harmony.

His sculptures allow viewers to explore the vast body form and diminished with fine details of delicate fingers, head, toes and revealed privae parts of human figures. The overall result is cute, sensual and beauty.

Vince has a big marble sculpture piece currently exhibited in Sculpture By The Sea 2010.

Sam Wade

School Blues (Lads) by artist Sam Wade

Samuel Wade, The AME Bale and Brett Whiteley Travelling Scholarship winner and the current art teacher at Julian Ashton art school, has a new series of school life exhibition at Eva Breuer.

Sam's painting captures everyday life of school "blues" in figurative paintings and in urban and interior landscape of particular indoor or outdoor building facades and people in general.

Sam explores closer perspective and details of normal everyday life images in people's mood, behavior and character that we all normally see such as pose, movement, action, and reveal some kind of everyday stories of hunam life and behavior pattern, feeling, emotion, anger, frustraction, standing, walking , bending etc.

All these images are significant to us as a reflection of modern life and contemporary culture.

For example, the paintings Hatstall 1 and 2 capture an outdoor stall market or it may be the Paddington Market stalls. The composition and the subject matter are well executed with full of energy, vibrancy, movement, outdoor atmosphere, and a strong dialogue and interaction between the ladies and the hats. Great work!
