Westfield Shines in Pitt Street Mall
World Class Mega Shopping Centre

WESTFIELD SYDNEY

Pitt Street Mall is coming back to international glory after years of neglects with major retail shopping centre construction from Mid City Centre and Westfield Shopping Centre.

The Stage one of Westfield Sydney in Pitt Street Mall is finally opened in October 2010 after one and a half year of vigorous construction.

It includes total 130 retail stores and food outlets with major international brands such as GAP, DVF, Hugo Boss, Mulburry, Stuat Weitzman, Tum and Wolford. Australian designers include Leona Edminaton, Ksubi, Sass & Bide, Mimco, Zimmermann and Ted Baker.

Major food outlets at Sydney Room ( Level 5) includes Guzman Y Gomez, Charlie & Co Burgers, Eat Deli Kitchen, Crush Gourmet Pizza and Dergah Grill.

Architect John Wardel from Melbourne designed the exterior facade architecture, while Japanese designer Wonderwall designed the interior space of the retail precincts.

The major success of Westfiled Sydney was the team contribution from Westfield's highly skilled in-house architects, interior designers, specialty shop designers and tenancy coordinators.

The principal designer Frank Alvarez from Westfield leads the conceptual idea for the Sydney Room, the Foodcourt at level 5 as a stylish diner destination catering for corporate workers and shoppers in CBD Sydney.

SYDNEY ROOM (LEVEL 5)

Our observation is that, Frank uses simple formula, dark colour palatte, reversed black and white concept to enhance sophisticated ambience of dining rooms. The design of food outlets are derived from efficient spacial planning, circulation, interaction, manipulation and articulation of hierachy of spaces and rooms to create individual image and branding of each food stall.

The Sydney Room is successfully enhanced with variety of volumes articulated with clever use of different materials, layers, texture, colours and latest global graphic and geometrical shapes of each iconic food branding.

The overall effect is a subdue and stylish dining environment in modern contemporary setting.
